Art with packing peanuts! Ages 2+

This is a fun process art and sensory activity!
Materials:
Biodegradable Packing Peanuts
Water

We recently created recycled art with biodegradable packing peanuts. Biodegradable packing peanuts are not like styrofoam packing peanuts which never decompose. Instead, these peanuts are made from cornstarch and they dissolve quickly in water.

Fill a cup with just a little water (can also use a damp paper towel). Dip the packing peanuts in the water and then stick them to each other.

They dissolve in water so some kids may dip them more than others! They will dissolve if they hold them in the water too long. Great sensory and process art activity!

The kids loved this activity so much they wanted to do it again the next day. This time we tried dipping the packing peanuts in liquid watercolor.
