Kids love candy hearts. They are great for practicing patterns. Studies have shown that encouraging a child’s understanding of patterns contributes to the development of various kinds of mathematical thinking, including counting, problem-solving, drawing inferences about number combinations, and even algebra.

Kysen had fun making patterns with the candy hearts. He did 3 different types of patterns. He started with AB, then did ABC, and last AABBCC. He is in this fun phase were he is making patterns with everything! His food when he eats, when he draws, he notices them in nature. I love it!
