Kysen had a lot of fun with this activity. He worked on size order and he made a pattern. Opening and closing Easter eggs is also good for his fine motor muscles.
Materials:
3 different size Easter Eggs (I got them at the dollar store)
Here is a video of Kysen doing the activity!

Measurement applies some of the earliest mathematics that children learn, and there are many informal and formal opportunities to support this development.
First spread out the tops and bottoms of the eggs. I used 9 eggs (3 small, 3 medium, 3 large)
Kysen had been talking about size order with some of his toys. This activity was right along with his current interest in ordering his toys by size. He had to match the eggs together. Then he put them in size order. He loves to open and close Easter eggs. Opening and closing the eggs is a great fine motor activity.
Once he put all the eggs together he wanted to sort them by size.
- It is fine if the child wants to put them altogether first and then sort them.
- They don’t have to put them in a pattern if they are just starting with the concept of sorting.
- Just have fun with it!
