Playing is fun and learning can be too!

Water beads & Easter eggs! AGES 3+

Fun sensory activity for spring time! I like to put eggs of different sizes. This adds in some science and math skills. Children are measuring, guesstimating and learning about cause and effect while manipulating sensory materials.

Materials (aff link):
Water Beads
Different size Easter Eggs (I got them at the dollar store)

On Monday we soaked the water beads in water. The kids loved making predictions of what was going to happen when we put the water beads in water. Through out the day they also enjoyed making observations as to what was happening to the water beads and the water.

The next day we added Easter Eggs of different sizes.

As the children play in the sensory bin it’s always good to ask questions. Which egg do you think can fit the most water beads? Is the egg heavier when it’s empty or with water beads in it? How many water beads do you think can fit inside the egg? How do the water beads feel?

Here is the facebook post for this activity!
