Cars and PVC pipe ramps! Ages 3+

Age 3+, Age 4+, Age 5+, Engineering, loose parts

My class had so much fun exploring with PVC pipes and race cars.

Materials needed:
PVC pipes
Race Cars
Blocks

The kids wanted to make ramps for their cars. It started out with one PVC pipe.

Then some kids added blocks at the end of the PVC pipes to stop the cars at the end of the ramp.

Next they tried making ramps with 2 PVC pipes. They realized the starting ramp had to be on top of the second ramp for the car to keep going.

Then they tried 4 PVC pipes. They used blocks to put under the PVC pipes to help slant the ramp. This was a great engineering activity. The kids invested thought and decision making for every ramp they engineered!
