First cut the bottom of a water bottle with a scissor.
Stretch out the sock and slide it over the open end of the water bottle. If the sock doesn’t fit tight than you can always put a rubber band to help hold it on. I find kids socks work best for a tight fit.
In a small bowl, mix together some dish soap with a small amount of water. I didn’t measure, but it was about 4 or 5 drops of dish soap and about 1/2 cup of water. You’ll have to guess with the amounts until you get a good bubble consistency.
Dip the end of the bottle and sock into the bubble solution.
Then blow on the mouth piece of the bottle to make the bubbles.
The harder you blow, the better your bubbles will turn out. Blowing hard makes a snake. Blowing lightly kind of makes a big ball of bubbles on the end of the bottle. Make sure you tell the kids to blow out. If they suck in they will suck the bubble solution into their mouth.
You can add a drop or two of food coloring to the end of the sock to get colored bubbles if you want. Try experimenting with different sized bottles, adding food coloring, and different quantities of water and dish soap to see if you can get different shapes, sizes and colors.
