Erupting Ice Chalk! Ages 2+ Great summer science activity!
1/4C baking soda
3-5 drops of food coloring
Ice cube tray
Squeeze bottles or pipettes
First mix the baking soda and cornstarch together. Then add your food coloring drops.
Next add water and mix.
Then pour into ice cube tray and freeze overnight.
Then next day take them out and you are ready to paint!
When the kids are done painting. Hand them a squeeze bottle filled with vinegar. This is where they get really excited! When you squirt the ice chalk with vinegar the cubes start to erupt! My boys loved to hear the sound of the fizzing.
