Letter Cup Matching! AGES 3+

Letter matching activities are an excellent way for preschoolers to explore the alphabet. This is an easy upper and lowercase letter matching activity to reinforce matching letters of the alphabet in a fun way that preschoolers enjoy.  The best part about this activity is you also have to use teamwork and communication skills.  You can play with 2 or 4 children.

Materials (affiliate links)
Cups
Rubberband
String or ribbon
Marker to write letters

Here is a video of Kysen doing the activity!

First I wrote letters on the cups

Next I found a rubber band that fit around the cups.  I cut 4 pieces of string and tied them to the rubber band.

Now you are ready!

The boys each held 2 strings.  They worked together to pull the string to expand the rubber band.  Then they would loosen the string to get the rubber band around the cup, so they could lift the cup up.

I loved watching them do this activity as they used teamwork and communication to pick the cups up and find the matching letter.

Once they matched all the letters they wanted to work together to stack all the cups in one pile!
