Initial Sound Match Game! AGES 3+

Age 3+, Age 4+, Age 5+, Age 6+, Language & Literacy, Phonemes, Phonological Awareness

Which one doesn’t belong? This activity is great for working on initial sound match. Have the child say the name of each object. Then have them pick which object doesn’t start with the same sound as the other two objects.

Materials:
Collect small objects around your classroom or house. Make sure at least 2 of the objects start with the same sound.

Once you have collected your objects you are ready to start! Place 3 objects in front of the child. Have them say the names of the objects out loud. Then they pick the object that doesn’t start with the same sound as the other 2 objects.
