Patterns and fine motors! Kids love to play around with water and pipettes. Using water and pipettes is a great way to strengthen fine motor muscles. Kysen enjoyed making different patterns with the cotton balls. We also incorporated some science when we talked about how the cotton balls absorbed the water. When he was done with the patterns he loved exploring with the rest of the water on the cotton balls.

First put some food coloring in your water.
Line up as many cotton balls as you can fit in a row. Have your child make a pattern. I challenged Kysen to make a different pattern for each row. When Kysen started putting the water on the cotton balls we talked about what was happening to the water. He loved how the cotton balls absorbed the water.
When he was done making patterns he enjoyed using the rest of the water to explore with the pipettes and cotton balls.
