The boys love doing this activity! All you need is a bucket, couple drops of soap, paint brushes and sponges. It is a great way for them to strengthen their fine motors , while using their critical thinking and problem solving skills. I love watching and listening to them play as they pretend they are running a Truck Wash Shop together. They used great team work in washing the tires of the trucks using paint brushes. When someone is done washing a car they say, “truck ready for drying.” Their imaginations give them so much great conversation together.

Materials:
Bucket
Liquid Soap
Paint brushes
Sponges
First I had them gather all their trucks from the backyard. They tend to be all over the place.
We put a couple drops of dish soap in a bucket and then they filled it with water.
Now they were ready to wash the trucks. We talked about how the sponges are good for the big parts and the brushes would be good to wash the smaller parts. This kept them entertained for about 2 hours! In fact they have been doing it for the last 3 days during outside choice time!
They had asked for 2 towels so they could have a drying station.
