Balancing Plate Activity! Ages 4+

Age 4+, Age 5+, Age 6+, Critical Thinking, Fine/Gross Motor Skills, Gross Motors, Problem Solving, Summer/Outdoor

The boys have loved making up obstacle courses! For this one they had to work together holding a plate in between them as they walked together to the finish. If one of them fell off the track they had to go back to the start. They were working on teamwork, communication, balance, coordination and gross motor skills. It took them many tries but once they accomplished the goal it was so fun to watch them celebrate together!

Materials:
2 x 4 wood (or something they can balance on)
Paper Plate

First use whatever 2 x 4 wood you have to make the course. The boys put a flag in the middle as a half way check point. This activity takes a lot of balance. Especially because you are balancing off of each other.

The best part for me is watching them celebrate a common goal together.
