Playing is fun and learning can be too!

Cuisenaire Rods & Glass Beads! Ages 3+

We love loose parts play!  The options are endless.  Kids can really show their creativity.  Kysen made a racetrack.  He raced 4 cars to the finish, but there were only finish spots for 3 cars, so one car didn’t get a medal.  He also created a house with a river that has salmon swimming in it.  By asking questions you can talk about many math concepts and develop kids language skills.  What did you make?  Can you tell me about it?  How does it work? How many fish are in the river?  What happens if I take one away how many fish are there now?
